Sparkade is committed to protecting the privacy and safety of children, families, educators, and schools. Privacy is foundational to our mission, and we design Sparkade to collect the minimum information necessary to provide a safe, supportive, and effective learning experience. Sparkade is an educational platform and is not intended to diagnose, treat, or provide clinical or medical assessments.

1. Audience and Intended Use

Sparkade is an educational, game-based learning platform designed for children, including neurodivergent learners. The platform may be used by:

  • Children, with verifiable parental or school consent

  • Parents and legal guardians

  • Educators and schools

We recognize the additional responsibility that comes with providing digital experiences for children and educational settings.
 

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the limited information necessary for educational functionality and safety.

a. Information Provided by Parents, Guardians, or Schools

  • Parent or guardian email address

  • Account login credentials, when an account is created

  • Child’s age or age range (we do not collect full birthdates)

  • Classroom or school association (for school-managed accounts)

b. Information Collected During Use

  • Gameplay progress and learning performance

  • In-game interactions and responses

  • Session length and engagement data

c. Information We Do Not Collect

  • Precise location data

  • Photos, videos

  • Social media account information

  • Biometric data

  • Medical, psychological, or diagnostic records

 

​​We may process voice input temporarily to enable spoken interactions with AI companions. Voice input is not stored, retained, used for identification, or used for advertising purposes.

 

3. How We Use Information

Collected information is used only to:

  • Personalize learning experiences and difficulty levels

  • Support skill development and learning progress

  • Provide insights to parents and educators

  • Maintain safety, functionality, and product improvement

Sparkade does not use personal information for marketing or advertising purposes. We may use aggregated and anonymized data for research, analysis, and product improvement. This data cannot reasonably be used to identify any individual child, parent, educator, or school.

4. Advertising and Analytics 

  • Sparkade does not display advertising of any kind

  • Sparkade does not engage in targeted advertising

  • Sparkade does not use personal data for marketing, profiling, or behavioral advertising

Any analytics used are:

  • Limited to understanding product performance and learning effectiveness

  • Not used for advertising

  • Not shared for marketing purposes

 

5. AI and Personalization

Sparkade includes a guided AI companion designed to support learning and engagement.

  • AI interactions are age-appropriate, safety-filtered, and restricted

  • AI does not provide medical, clinical, or diagnostic advice

  • AI is not used to label, profile, or identify children

  • AI interactions are designed to encourage learning, reflection, and confidence

All AI systems operate within ethical guardrails and human oversight.

 

6. Children’s Privacy and COPPA Compliance

Sparkade complies with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

  • We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental or school consent

  • Parents and guardians have the right to:

    • Review their child’s information

    • Request corrections

    • Request deletion of their child’s data

7. Schools and Educational Use 

For school-based use:

  • Student data is used solely for educational purposes

  • Data is not sold, rented, or used for advertising

  • Sparkade aligns with FERPA-informed best practices

 

8. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal data.

Limited data may be shared only with:

  • Trusted service providers necessary to operate Sparkade (e.g., secure hosting)

  • These providers are contractually required to protect data and use it only for Sparkade services

No third-party advertising networks are used.

 

9. Data Security

We use industry-standard safeguards, including:

  • Encrypted connections

  • Secure infrastructure

  • Access controls and internal security practices

While no system is completely risk-free, we take reasonable steps to protect all information entrusted to us.

 

10. Data Retention and Deletion

  • Data is retained only as long as necessary to provide educational services

  • Parents, guardians, or schools may request deletion at any time

  • Deleted data is permanently removed from active systems
